With the abundance of chat logs and video evidence implicating players from Mineski and MSI-EvoGT in a match-fixing scandal led by former Mineski player Jonathan Radores and Dota 2 bettor Michael Vincent Vallejos, a member of IAP.Execration (IAP.XCTN) was revealed to be in talks of forming a new team under the #322PH masterminds.

Ryan Jay “Bimbo” Qui, midlaner for IAP.XCTN, was allegedly approached by Radores in order to form a new team sponsored by Vallejos using the money they earned from fixing matches between Mineski, MSI-EvoGT and other teams.

In the screenshot above, Radores told Bimbo that the latter could earn more from his current position, especially since Mineski is set to lose its players as a result of the match-fixing scandal. Radores then implored Bimbo to join his team, asserting that Vallejos will not push through with financing the team without Bimbo on the roster.

Bimbo initially refused, saying that he would rather not play if Richard “Paseo” Minowa will be on the team. Paseo is currently on indefinite suspension from the Mineski Dota 2 squad for his part in the match-fixing scandal.

In an exclusive interview with IAP.XCTN’s manager Arvin Risos, Risos confirmed that Bimbo was approached by Radores and invited to form a new team.

According to Risos, when the screenshots were leaked, he immediately asked Bimbo if he was also involved in any match-fixing of IAP.XCTN’s games.

“When the screenshots came out, Bimbo admitted to us that he was asked to form a new team. His answer was that he was still going to think about it,” Risos told Esports Inquirer.

“I repeatedly asked him if he was involved in the scam, but he asserted that he was not a part of it. He was only in talks with Radores to form a new team,” he added. “We would have automatically removed him if he was involved in any scam.”

On twitter, Earlwin “Ewe” Libre from IAP.XCTN confirmed that Radores and Vallejos also approached their squad to fix their matches. According to Ewe, the team flatly refused.

Risos said that the implored Bimbo to immediately inform them if he will leave the team, as performing with a stand-in at the last minute will be too stressful for IAP.XCTN.

With IAP.XCTN’s win at the StarLadder X South East Asian Qualifiers, IAP.XCTN will represent the SEA region in the LAN finals in Kiev, Ukraine on October 23-26. Risos confirmed that IAP.XCTN will play with their current roster including Bimbo in Kiev.

“Bimbo is getting along well with the team. There’s no friction among us. He was really just invited by Radores. If he does leave to form a new team, it will be after StarLadder,” Risos said.
