The Nintendo Switch Lite, a new and smaller version of the Nintendo Switch portable gaming console, is slated to be released today, September 20.

The main difference between the Switch Lite and its predecessor is its core purpose. While the Switch’s TV dock and joy-cons allow gamers to enjoy games on their TV, the Switch Lite is smaller and lacks the capability to dock, making it best suited for gaming on-the-go.

According to the official Nintendo Switch Lite page, the console is “dedicated to handheld play” with its compact and lightweight design and built-in controllers. All Switch games that support handheld mode are compatible with the Switch Lite.

Another important difference is the price, with the Switch being sold at USD 299.99 (~PHP 15,600.00) and the Switch Lite currently priced at USD 199.99 (~PHP 10,400.00).

The Switch Lite isn’t the only thing dropping today, though; the remake for Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and House House’s Untitled Goose Game have both been slated to release today as well. Both will be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for USD 59.99 and USD 19.99 respectively.
