Rev Major 2019 Survival Guide
Rev Major 2019 — the biggest Filipino fighting game event to-date — is happening this weekend, September 28 -29 at the Solaire Resort and Casino. Now in its third year, the latest installation of this homegrown gathering of the fighting game community has gathered over 874 attendees from across the Southeast Asian region and beyond.
While mega-tournaments like EVO with hundreds of entrants across multiple titles are a staple abroad, they’re a relatively new addition to the Filipino landscape. With that in mind, here’s a handy survival guide of what you need to know heading into Rev Major 2019.
What is Rev Major?
Rev Major is an annual multi-fighting game tournament founded in 2017 and organized by PlayBook Esports and Gariath Concepts (of Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit fame). The tournament is one of Southeast Asia’s premier fighting game community (FGC) events alongside the likes of SEA Major and Thaiger Uppercut.
This year’s Rev Major will be hosting official tournaments for 12 titles, an apt representation of the Philippines’ diverse FGC. Some of the brackets will even have bearing on international circuits/leaderboards.
While competitor registration is closed, prospective attendees can still avail free spectator passes.
