Riot Games has finally laid out a plan to penalize game-ruining behavior after years of the community complaining about griefing, inting, and afking in ranked play.

In a dev post, Design Director Andrei “Meddler” van Roon detailed Riot’s plans to reduce unacceptable in-game behavior. Riot’s plans include introducing reporting in Champ Select and improving report feedback.

For the long term, Riot is planning to improve their algorithm for detecting unsportsmanlike players. Riot stated that it doesn’t want to falsely ban players who aren’t actually trolling therefore it’s something they still have to consider moving forward.
