Is it Panic Time? PNC to Face Liyab for PCS Slot
After a rough year in the Pacific Championship Series, Liyab Esports will be facing Panic for their slot in the regional league.
Panic stood tall in the PCS 2021 Spring Promotion, only dropping a single game in the entire tournament. In the Finals, Panic swept Kaiju 3-0 to get a chance to contest Liyab for their slot in the PCS. Panic and the seven teams qualified for the promotion tournament by their cumulative ranking in Ranked Solo/Duo.
Liyab Esports ended Spring and Summer in 9th place with a 4-14 record at the end of the year. Liyab were close to qualifying for playoffs at the end of split, but faltered at the hands of the Berjaya Dragons and Machi Esports in Week 7.
Liyab went through roster changes throughout the year putting in rookie Ren “Kanji” Motomitsu in the top lane and completely reinventing their bot lane. Despite the adjustments from Spring, the team are now set to fight for their spot in the pacific league for 2021.
“Let’s do our best to represent our country”, said Jan Edward “Cresho” Hortizuela in anticipation of their upcoming match against Liyab Esports. Cresho is the support of Panic and is a key player in the University of Santo Tomas’ collegiate team the Teletigers.
Panic’s coach is former professional player Van “Vansu” Matthew Alfonso who has beaten Liyab Esports as a part of Wanap in the former Philippine Pro Gaming League. Panic’s roster includes Speltz (Top), Revelate (Jungle), Ar1se (Mid), yjy (ADC), and Cresho (Support).
Liyab Esports and Panic will be facing in a best-of-five series on September 9, 5:00 P.M.. Catch all the action live on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.
