Newly-reformed team Fnatic will enter The International 10 in August as SEA Qualifier winners after defeating TNC Predator in an incredible three-game reverse-sweep 3-2.

Fnatic dominated the first three days of the TI Qualifiers as they had not been defeated in the Upper Bracket Division to climb their way up to the Grand Finals.

Fnatic faced TNC for the first time during the Qualifiers in the Upper Bracket Finals. Djardel “DJ” Mampusti and Ng “ChYuan” Kee Chyuan became the key players of the team to claim their dominating win against TNC 2-0.

TNC dropped to the Lower Bracket Finals and went against BOOM Esports. The All-Pinoy team won the series with their amazing teamwork for a shot of revenge against Fnatic in the Grand Finals.

FEATURED STORIES

Game 1 of the Grand Finals started strong for TNC as Armel “Armel” Tabios crushed Fnatic with his signature Templar Assassin. The game was called after 30 mins and TNC claimed the first blood of the series.

Thinking that signature heroes could win games in the Finals, TNC drafted Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte’s Phantom Assassin. Even though Fnatic fought hard and dominated the early game with their Leshrac and Abaddon combo of ChYuan and DJ, the team succumbed to their mistakes. This opened the door for TNC to come back and rely on Gabbi’s Phantom Assassin to finish the game and streak the series 2-0.

One game away from their dream of qualifying to TI, TNC drafted another signature hero of Gabbi, Morphling. With their dreams on the line Fnatic drafted Polo “Raven” Fausto’s Terrorblade to counter the damage on Armel’s Leshrac and Gabbi’s Morphling. Fnatic finally drew their first win of the series 2-1 to grab a lifeline.

Fnatic grabbed the chance as TNC did not ban Terrorblade in the drafting phase which cost them the fourth game. Raven proved in this game that his name is not yet forgotten and he is worthy to be called “the one true carry in SEA” as his Terrorblade made the series tied 2-2.

The frustration and the stress seems to have caught TNC by surprise as their 8th and last game of the Qualifiers showed the team’s fatigue. Fnatic hammered the final nail in the coffin as they finished the Grand Finals with their amazing teamfight capabilities of Axe carry and Yang “Deth” Wu Heng’s Tidehunter.

The grueling but exciting SEA Qualifiers have ended and the game’s international community are praising the interesting playstyle of all the teams that joined. Fnatic will join T1 as SEA representatives in The International 10 which will begin in August. The venue and the exact date of the said event is yet to be announced by Valve.
