Diverse regional representation await CGI 2022 playoffs
The CODM Garena Invitational 2022 playoff brackets and participants are now set after 5 grueling days of group stage matches.
In the Pro’s division, no region has more than one team going into the playoffs. DG Esports (Indonesia; Top 1 Group A), SEM9 (Malaysia; Top 2 Group A), ALMGHTY (Singapore, Top 1 Group B), and M420 LowKings (Philippines Top 2 Group B) have all secured their playoff spots after finishing top 2 in their respective groups. They will join Blacklist International Ultimate (Philippines), which qualified straight up into the playoffs being the Garena Masters titlists.
Surprisingly, there aren’t any Thailand teams who qualified for the next round. The Thais, who are considered to be a powerhouse region, sported reigning CGI champions WDC Freeslot as well as WDC Xenon. However, both teams fell short as Xenon finished just 4th in Group B, while Freeslot lost a tiebreaker against SEM9 for second place in Group A.

Other notable teams missing out in action for the playoffs include 3-time Indonesian Champions Galaxio Cepheus and 2020 Garena Champions Smart Omega of the Philippines. Smart Omega like WDC Freeslot, lost the tiebreaker against SEM9 as all three teams finished with a 3-2 record.
On the other hand, Ultimate Divinus (Philippines), Daivo Lady (Thailand), Avere Fede (Indonesia), and Velvet (Singapore) will move through to the playoffs in the girls’ division after finishing with the top 4 best records in the group stages.
