Everything You Need to Know About Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoverse’s Newest Title
The first Honkai: Star Rail livestream concluded last March 24th, and it featured a lot of content players can expect in the upcoming futuristic turn-based RPG from HoYoverse.
Honkai: Star Rail is almost here!
One of the most-awaited information about Honkai: Star Rail is its release date. Its Final Closed Beta just concluded, and after several rumors and leaks, we finally have an official release date: April 26th, 2023. Star Rail will be available on Android, iOS, Windows PC, and Epic Games Store on this date. A PlayStation version was announced to be in development but did not receive a release date.
Pre-registrations are now open, and a web event that rewards players with various in-game items once it launches is also underway! Honkai: Star Rail has reached over 8,000,000 pre-registers, going well over the final milestone of 5,000,000 for multiple in-game rewards.

All Aboard the Star Rail
In Honkai: Star Rail, players take on the character of Trailblazer within the Astral Express. As the Astral Express makes its stops on various planets across the cosmos, players can experience these different environments through exploration and combat.

Honkai: Star Rail is a free-to-play, futuristic, 3D, turn-based RPG, and plays around mechanics such as action speed and elemental advantages to gain the upper hand against the massive variety of enemies in the game. The Boarding Preparation Livestream featured the first few areas that players will get to explore: the Herta Space Station, the wintry city of Belobog, and the Chinese-themed spaceship Xianzhou Luofu.
Those familiar with the Honkai game series will also recognize some characters that are in Star Rail, most notably Himeko, Bronya, Seele, and Welt. If this is your first exposure to anything Honkai however, worry not as there are many lovable characters that you will get to meet, such as March 7th, Dan Heng, and a whole lot more. Honkai: Star Rail does not require any previous knowledge of the series, and does not significantly pick up from any of the previous games.
Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact
HoYoverse rose in relevance recently with the massive success of Genshin Impact, and you know what they say, “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” It seems the developer-publisher has learned some lessons from Genshin Impact and carried over some features and mechanics from the popular open-world RPG. Apart from the massive pool of charming personalities that Honkai: Star Rail will have available on launch, it also took a similar approach in character mechanics. Genshin players will find mechanics similar to the Constellations, Weapons, and Talents within Honkai: Star Rail.
Honkai: Star Rail becomes available on Android, iOS, Windows PC, and the Epic Games Store on April 26th, 2023.
