According to their head coach Mark Alexis “Olea” Olea, the Filipinos had to overcome wifi and internet problems before dispatching the Japanese.

“We were lagging all throughout the match. “[The lag] It was so bad that some of our players had to resort to using data connection just to play,” Olea said.

The situation was evident as the LowKings appeared to be frequently reconnecting in and out of the game. The match also had a long pause bridging the second, third, and fourth games as WPM sorted it out.

Olea mentioned that the Garena admin had noticed it which prompted them to approach the team. “They said our wifi was really the problem and Luffy and KLo were experiencing de-sync. We had to use a data connection to keep playing and fortunately, we pulled through.”

Moreover, the LowKings had to deal with a disqualification when Patrick “Peejay” Sagudo used a legendary utility, which was banned. They could’ve won Game 1 Search and Destroy at Express and finished the match with a 3-1 win. The LowKings also lost Game 3 Control at Standoff while winning the rest of the games.

WPM returns to action today against China’s Standpoint Gaming in the ongoing CDSI 2023. All matches can be watched live on Garena CODM’s Facebook page and YouTube channel respectively.
