League of Legends players in the PH servers will soon be part of a greater, Southeast Asia (SEA) server come 2025, according to developer-publisher Riot Games.

SEA server for LoL

Players on the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore/Malaysia/Indonesia servers will soon be able to play together on the merged SEA server.

According to Riot Games, this is to “create the best possible experience for every game you play and to bring more players across the region together.” The merge is expected to have an improved matchmaking experience, making it faster and more balanced skill-level wise.

The merge will happen on January 9, 2024 when the first patch of League of Legends 2025 Season 1 drops. Players will not have to do anything for the merge, and most account details will transfer except for Clash-related information.

Riot has clarified that in-game purchases will remain purchasable with the same local currency as before.

What will happen to my LoL ping after the merge?

Players in the Philippines may experience higher ping, but only by 20ms. Riot says LoL players can expect a similar ping as VALORANT, and that the ping increase should not have an impact to the gameplay experience.
