Cavite Versus Cebu: Razer NeXT Season 2 Finals Live Blog!
It’s the North versus the South!
Will the Cebu-based team Arcanys Gaming (Arcanys) defend their throne in the Razer National eXtreme eSports Tournament (NeXT)? Or will the Caviteños – Team Execration (XctN) – show no mercy to dethrone them from their peak?
“I expect a great match against Team Execration since we haven’t played against their new roster. Each and every one of them are skilled players and I’m excited to fight them,” Arcanys’ Captain Marvin “Boombacs” Rushton told eSports Inquirer. “I’m confident that we will win because I trust all my teammates. Because if you’re not confident enough to win then you’ll just lose easily.”
The highly-spirited captain of XctN, Kimuel “Kim0” Rodis expressed his confidence and hopes coming into the best-of-five series finals match.
“Kahit anong laban at makalaban, confident si Kimo! Mali ang tinanungan mo niyan parekoy,” Kim0 told eSports Inquirer. “I hope we can give them a great match. Ang lakas nila eh!”
Arcanys showed a flawless performance during last season’s all-south war grand finals against Bacolod-based team -Insight.PH. XctN is the first Filipino-team to qualify to an Ukrainian prestige tournament where they wowed foreign teams even if they didn’t place a podium finish.
“Shout-out to our Boss Alan Debonneville for giving us all the support that he can. Also [to] the arcanys gaming people and to the fans – if we have any – thanks for supporting us and hoping that you wont stop supporting us,” Boombacs said.
“First of all I would like to greet my wife Christine Reyes; take care of our baby! Thank you very much to our manager for his unending support a.k.a Arvin Risos – BOSS B! Shout-out to BEMBOL maraming salamat at wala ka pa rin sawang nambwibwiset samin…To all our fans, chill lang kayo. Babangon ulit kami. Hindi pa siguro bukas… hindi pa rin ngayon… malay ninyo balang araw dumating din yon!” Kim0 expressed.

Game 1: CEBUANOS IN CONTROL
BEGIN. Game 1 draft between Arcanys Gaming and Execration Dota 2.
TRAPPED. Arcanys draws first blood as they cornered an Execration hero in the river.
4 for 3. Clash in the Roshan pit area. Arcanys won it 4 for 3.
MESSED UP. Another clash going in favor of Arcanys in the bottom lane.
KNOCK KNOCK. Arcanys already knocking at Execration’s door as they took down the opposition’s middle lane melee barracks.
TAKE DOWN. Arcanys seized Execration’s base taking down the top lane set of barracks.
GOLD LEAD. Arcanys held an at least 11,000 gold lead and experience lead at the 30-minute mark.
SAW YOU. Arcanys turned around a smoke gank by Execration, claiming four of their heroes in exchange of one – making the Northern warriors tap out at the 35-minute mark.
GAME 1. The Cebuanos took game one of the best-of-five finals match from the Caviteños!
Game 2: CAVITEÑOS COMEBACK!
GAME 2. The draft for game two.
NOT A GOOD START. Arcanys drew first blood!
EARLY LEAD. Arcanys takes early lead in the game.
A MINUTE. Execration initiated on Arcanys for almost a minute packed of action. They won the clash, 5 for 4.
RIGHT TIME. Execration found the right time to take the kill lead for the first time in the game after taking down three of the opposition in exchange of one.
SLOWLY BUT SURELY. Execration slowly taking the lead after catching the opposition off-guard in their jungle.
DOWNFALL. The experience lead drops in favor of the Caviteños at the 30-minute mark.
FIRST TIME. Execration tops the net worth for the first time in game.
ONE DOWN. With the lead at hand, Execration seized in the opposition’s base destroying the middle lane set of barracks at the 36-minute mark.
SNOWBALL. After some time of turtling and farming, Execration seized again Arcanys’ base taking down the top lane set of barracks as well as picking the enemy heroes one-by-one eventually leading to their good game call.
COMEBACK. Execration comes back from a sloppy early game to tie the series at 1-all in the Razer NeXT Season 2 finals!
TIED. Execrations ties the series at 1-all.
Game 3: CEBU’S COMEBACK
EARLY. Execration held an early lead in the game in terms of kill score and net worth.
FORCED. The Caviteños forced clashes after clashes knowing that the Cebuanos were lagging behind in items and experience.
16 MINUTES. Execration posed an at least 5,000 gold lead at the 16-minute mark.
SNOWBALL? With the advantage at hand, Execration started to push the lanes to gain greater map control.
TIME TO SEIZE IN. Execration tried to force the issue at the top lane however an impressive defense coming from Arcanys Gaming stopped them. Cebuanos took a three for on exchange in the clash.
PAYBACK TIME. Minutes after the messy clash in the top lane it was the Cebuanos who forced the issue against Execration. They seized in the opposition’s base through the top lane, taking down the first set of barracks.
AT THE TOP. For the second time Execration pushed again at the top lane trying to seized in the opposition’s territory. Yet another great defense by Arcanys took them by surprise as the Cebuanos turned the clash around in their favor for another successful base defense.
HOLDING ON. Execration still holds the top net worth in game.
CLEAR-CUT. Arcanys capitalized on the mistakes and errors of their enemy. They found the right openings which paved way for a clear-cut victory after taking down all the opposition’s vital structures.
MEGA CREEPS. Arcanys had the mega creeps at the 40-minute mark.
A LITTLE DOWNFALL. For the first time in the game Arcanys had the lead in terms of gold difference.
ONE LAST STAND. Amid mega creeps by their opposition, Execration forced one last clash in the middle lane but to no avail as Arcanys won it easily.
Game 4: CLEAR-CUT FOR CEBU
OBJECTIVE. Coming in to the fourth game of the series, Arcanys had a clear objective: win.
A LITTLE BIT OF GOLD. The net worth difference at the 16-minute mark.
EXP! Arcanys held at least 3,000 experience lead at the 16-minute mark.
BRIGHT FUTURE. Arcanys got their core items just in item to increase their lead and slowly take away the game from Execration.
UNSTOPPABLE. At this point the Cebuanos are just capitalizing their lead finding pick-offs after pick-offs and winning clashes left and right.
UP AND AWAY. Arcanys posed at least 7,500 net worth difference at the 31-minute mark.
KNOCK KNOCK. With the advantage and lead at hand, Arcanys took down with ease the vital structures of the opposition in the bottom lane.
NO TURNING BACK. The Cebuanos were no where to be stopped as they seized in the opposition’s base taking down structures after structures eventually forcing the call from the Caviteños.
