StarHorn Royal Club: Broken Legs and Broken Dreams?

There’s a bad habit in League of Legends called the Lee Syndrome, after the champion Lee Sin. It refers to the inclination of a Lee Sin player to follow up his initial Sonic Wave with a Resonating Strike even when it would put him at risk. It’s essentially taking a jump against one’s better judgment.

Nobody ever thought it could translate outside of the game, but that all changed when the most innovative Lee Sin player of all time took one such jump and broke a few bones, and perhaps even his team’s chances in the Chinese circuits.

Reports from China revealed that while training for the Demacia Cup semifinals, the jungler of StarHorn Royal Club, Choi “InSec” Inseok, fractured his leg. The exact cause of him jumping from one floor to another is still up for debate but as of this writing, InSec is hospitalized and awaiting further treatment, which is all well and good — except that the Demacia Cup is currently underway.

In fact, Royal Club has a quarterfinal series against Team WE today, and the status of the team remains unclear. With InSec being such a key component to Royal Club’s success, it’s hard to see them doing as well as they could have without this unfortunate incident.

FEATURED STORIES

Team WE may have more riding on this than just the Demacia Cup however, as they currently stand one spot below Royal Club in the Tencent League of Legends Pro League. Though China’s premier circuit is on a one week break, InSec surely won’t be 100% by the time the season closes. Team WE has been on a tear since their recent resurgence at IEM Katowice, making the threat of them overtaking Royal Club in the LPL standings even more serious.

All Royal Club can do now is hope that InSec recovers swiftly, and maybe next time, wards before he jumps.
