Dota 2: Road To Seattle
Two Filipino teams, TheNet.Com (TNC) Gaming and Mineski-Dota, will fly the Philippine flag in the realm of Dota 2 for the upcoming Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) Southeast Asian (SEA) Grand Finals. The event will be held during the Selangor Cyber Games this Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Encorp Strand Mall in Selangor, Malaysia.
Many of the SEA Regional Qualifier teams for this year’s The International, including G-Guard, 5eva and Signature.Trust will also be attending the event, thus making it a wonderful opportunity for both players and spectators to gauge the strength of the SEA teams coming into The International qualifiers.
Prizes are as follows:
1st place: $30,000 (P1,340,000)
2nd place: $10,000 (P447,000)
3rd place: $7,000 (P313,000)
4th place: $3,000 (P134,000)
Will any of the Filipino teams take home the MPGL crown? Or will they fall to their illustrious opponents?
Counter-Strike: A Quest For A Rightful Place
In what could be the beginning of an era for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) here in the Philippines this year, Raised By Wolves will represent the Philippines in the CS: GO category.
The tournament will feature some of Asia’s best CS: GO teams such as MVP.Karnal, who have reached the semi-finals of the recently concluded Rising Stars Asia 2 online tournament, as well as well-known brands such as Orange eSports and Insidious Gaming.
The tournament will be held in a double-elimination format, with a best-of-three upper bracket and a best-of-one lower bracket. Teams will play from a pool that includes Dust 2, Cache, Overpass, Inferno, Mirage and Train. For each map drawn, overtime will be played in a MR3* format with $10000 starting cash.
This marks the first time that a Filipino team has played in a CS:GO LAN tournament this year.
Prizes are as follows:
1st place: RM 3000 (P37,431)
2nd place: RM 2000 (P24,956)
3rd place: RM 1000 (P12,478)
Will they surprise everyone by getting into the podium? Or will they falter against the best of Southeast Asia?

*MR3 stands for the maximum rounds per half in overtime, for a total of six rounds. In this case, a team needs to take a total of four rounds if it wants to win; another overtime will be played if the scores of the teams are even at the end of the two halves.
