ESL ESEA Pro League Finalists Bared, LAN Finals To Feature $250,000 Prize Pool

After weeks of endless matches, the eight finalists for the first season of the world’s largest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league have finally been revealed.

In the European division, Fnatic, Team Solo Mid (TSM), Virtus.Pro and EnVyUs have booked their tickets to the finals of the first season.

As for the American division, Cloud 9, Keyd Stars, Luminosity and Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) will carry the hopes of the American continent as they advance to the offline finals.

The first stage of the LAN final will be held in a best-of-one double elimination format in which the top three teams advance to the next stage of the tournament. In the second stage, the  highest ranked teams in the previous stage will be seeded in the semifinals of the second stage, with the remaining teams to face each other in the quarterfinals. This time around, matches will be held in a best-of-three single elimination format, with the grand finals to be held in a best-of-five match.

While it has been previously announced that the first season of the league will feature a $500,000 prize pool, only $250,000 will be given out in the offline finals as the other half has been given out to all the participants in both divisions of the league. Fnatic and Cloud 9 recieve $18,000 for finishing at the top of their respective divisions, while the last-placed teams from each division recieve $2,500 for their efforts.

The finals will be held from July 2 to July 5 this year at the ESL Esports Arena in Cologne, Germany.

The prize money distribution for the LAN finals is as follows:

1st place: $100,000
2nd place: $60,000
3rd/4th place: $25,000
5th/6th place: $12,500
7th/8th place: $7,500
