Arcanys bags ESL PH Dota 2 Finals; Mineski Places Second
After two days of intense matches, Arcanys Gaming has been crowned as the champions of the Electronic Sports League (ESL) Philippines Dota 2 Grand Finals after three action-packed games against the Mineski Dota 2 team.
Both teams had to fight against some of the best Filipino Dota 2 squads on their way to the grand finals thanks to a very unforgiving format. The single elimination, best-of-three bracket format in the playoffs meant that teams had to give everything they had from the get-go.
Once again, Malaysian players Johnny “JoHnNy” Lee and Ah “ahfu” Fu played for Mineski Dota 2 in the ESL PH Dota 2 Grand Finals. In the end, it was Cebu-based team, Arcanys Gaming, that took the title after bouncing back from a loss in Game One of the championship round against Mineski.
The tournament, held at the Mega Trade Hall in SM Megamall, had a total prize pool of P75,000, awarding P40,000 to the champion, P20,000 to second place, P10,000 to third and P5,000 to fourth.
Six other teams joined the tournament: SVentures Gaming, PowerPlay.TRIC, Click n Search, Pacific 2 eSports, Survey Corps (replacing MSI-EvoGT) and Evil Zebras (replacing IAP.Execration).
PLACINGS:
Champion: Arcanys Gaming – P40,000
2nd Place: Mineski-Dota – P20,000
3rd Place: Survey Corps – P10,000
4th Place: Click n’ Search – P5,000
