Gamescom Day 1: EA and Xbox’s Announcements with Blizzard’s Reveal
While The International 5 is happening in Seattle, Gamescom 2015 is happening in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom will be gathering huge game developers to show off exciting new games and other developments in store for fans. The event will last for until the 10th of August.
Let’s dive right in.
Electronic Arts
EA is ready for redemption. Showing some promising games, the American video game developer and distributor will bring us the following games:
Star Wars: Battlefront
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire
FIFA 16
Plants vs. Zombies 2 – Garden Warfare
Need for Speed – Icons
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
XBOX
Microsoft’s console on the other hand debuted this long list of games below and confirming Halo Wars 2 and Dark Souls III.

FIFA 2016
Here’s a limited edition XBOX console inspired by Halo 5 will be also available for purchase.
Not only that, the Halo 5 World Championship Tournament was announced and will boast a $1 million prize pool!
Blizzard
Blizzard has some great Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm news for everyone.
The Reveal
Of course, lots of new cards for the latest Grand Tournament expansion were revealed.

And yes, as you might have already read, a new mechanic — Jousting — was introduced at this year’s Gamescom. The said mechanic will randomly reveal cards from each player’s hand, compare them and execute some favorable effects if you win the Joust.
Ranking Up
The community requested buff to the ladder system has been heard by the developers. Playing ladder will now reward you treasure chests that has a chance of containing golden cards, Arcane dusts and the season card back.
Nexus Invasion
All other titles of Blizzard will had a representative for their announcement of new heroes.
Diablo 3’s Monk Class Kharazim, World of Warcraft’s Hunter Rexxar and Starcraft 2’s Protoss leader Artanis.
Infernal Battleground
A new battleground has been announced to be in development. Another Diablo-themed map named Infernal Shrines that will enable teams to spawn bosses with Arcane, Frozen or Mortar abilities to chase enemy Heroes or push the lanes.
More news for all of Blizzard’s titles will be coming from Blizzard’s own conference for Gamescom scheduled from August 7th to 10th.
