Team Philippines to go up Against Asia’s Finest in E-Frag CS: GO World Championship
With the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene slowly growing in the country, several of the Philippines’ finest players have come together in order to fly the Philippine flag at the Asian leg of the E-Frag Global Championships beginning on July 17 this year.
The tournament will be consisting of two stages in which teams will first go into a best-of-one group bracket where they have to win two matches in order to go on to the next stage. Afterwards, the playoffs will be held in a standard best-of-three round robin format.
Only the top three teams will go to the offline finals to be held on October 8-11 at the Sava Centar in Belgrade, Serbia. The Asian leg of the tournament will feature 13 countries, including FPS powerhouses China, Malaysia and Vietnam among others.
The offline finals will feature a $100,000 base prize pool and will include 16 national teams from all over the world, with travel and accommodation expenses covered by E-Frag and their partners.
Canada, USA, Australia and Brazil have qualified for the offline finals after getting through their respective regional qualifiers.
