—–It is a very slow-paced Saturday by the looks of things. People are roaming around and restaurants start to fill up as customers sit down to take a bite or two.

However, for the avid gamers out there, there is no such thing as a “laid-back” weekend as hordes of Razer users came to the launch of the Razer Concept Store on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the fourth floor of the SM North EDSA Annex.

FEATURED STORIES

As the Razer Concept Store autograph signing session goes on, hundreds of Razer fans who are armed with their respective peripherals waited patiently in a queue that went all the way down to the second floor of the establishment.

About an hour in after official start of the event, Min-Liang Tan, the CEO of Razer, made a short speech in which he emphasized how much he loves the Filipino gaming community and how much he appreciates the warm attendance at the event, in front of a jam-packed crowd.

The reception was so warm that it extended all the way down the mall and even way before the day of the event: Scores of hardcore fans have already camped in front of the mall’s A2 door, with some camping as early as 1 p.m. the previous day, hoping to be among the lucky ones to get a Kraken Neon Pro, which is one of Razer’s most famous headsets.

Then, at the end of that long, winding line, there is a young child, handsomely groomed. His very own green Razer Kraken Neo Pro headphone looks nice on him, with the colors complementing with the dress that he uses.

He is not alone, as his family came with him: Father, mother and daughter are lining it up together with their son in order to have their peripherals signed by the Razer CEO as well as famed cosplayers Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao at the Razer opening event.

As a part of his wife’s birthday celebration, Mark, a father of two, went with his children to the event. He is a casual gamer and an avid user of Razer equipment. Asked how long does he use Razer gear, here is what he has to say:

“Since my wife wanted it to be something special, we decided to come here to the Razer event together with our children. I have been a loyal Razer user for four years; all of the stuff that I use for playing games all come from Razer.”

Kenzie, his son, has just newly caught up in his father’s footsteps: Sporting that green headset and proudly showing off his Razer Kabuto mousepad for posterity, he mentions that “he has been using Razer gear for a year now.”

Then, Mark mentions that “everyone in the family uses Razer; we simply love their products and we are happy to have them.”

Asked if it is worth the long wait, here is what Mark has to say:

“Definitely.”
