Razer NeXT Crossfire Wave 2: Second Round
After an action-packed weekend that involved 127 teams from all over the Philippines fighting for precious slots in the group stage of the Northern and Southern Conference, the action continues as Terrovania from Pampanga and MSI-EvoGT from Manila faces off against Pacific.Wara and Pacific.Macta in the round robin bracket of the Northern Conference.
In the meantime, the Southern Conference commences with eight teams from Cebu and Bacolod brawling it out for the last two spots in the group bracket of the Southern Conference, where Cebu powerhouses NxA and Spammers await for them. The eight teams will fight it out on Ankara for the first part of the bracket and the next part of the bracket will be done on Black Widow.
Ankara is well-known for its “three-way” format that bears some resemblance to Cache in CS:GO. The format of the map allows Global Risk to do quick setups, while the Black List can get map control early on through controlling the middle portion of the map, thus allowing for execution strategies later on in the round.
As for Black Widow, it is basically similar to Dust 2 in conceptualization; thus, teams should not have any problems doing their particular strategies on this map.
The top two teams from each group stage will have an additional P1,500 in their pockets as well as a place in their respective Conference Finals.
Afterwards, the top two teams of each Conference will face each other in the Wave Final on Saturday, May 23 to see who will get the lion’s share of the P15,000 overall prize pool as well as the honor of becoming the second winner of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament!
Will it be another Cebu-Manila clash? Or will teams from other provinces take up the mantle and bring pride to their region?
Get your fingers crossed as the action continues with the start of the group stages on Saturday, May 16!
