Pacific.Macta Gets Back-To-Back Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament Title
Once again, Pacific.Macta (also known as Macta Infirma) win the second leg of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament, after beating sister team Pacific.Wara in two maps. The map pool for the last round of the tournament was composed of Sub Base, Port and Black Widow.
History almost repeats itself
Despite the fact that 127 teams joined the first phase of the tournament, the semi-finals featured two teams from Cebu and two teams from Manila, thus ensuring that it would be a showdown that would be similar to the one that happened during the first leg. On one hand, Pacific.Macta goes up against HASleftxSPM (former Spammers). On the other hand, Pacific.Wara faced HL.Decapitatorz, who is notable for winning the Cebu leg of the Crossfire Stars 2015 Regional Eliminations. The maps played were Mexico, Sub Base and Ankara.
The matchup between Pacific.Wara and HL.Decapitatorz proved to be an interesting one as the Cebu side fought it out in a 4v5 situation. At the end of the day, Wara prevailed over their Cebu-based opponents with a 2-0 clean sweep in order to advance to the finals.
As for the match between Macta and HASleftxSPM, the Manila-based squad quickly handled the former Spammers squad as they went off with a 2-0 scoreline, thus ensuring that the final round of the second leg Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament was an all-Manila final.
Rivalry in the making?
Once again, Pacific.Macta and Pacific.Wara face off in the grand finals of this tournament. Macta Infirma showed that they are one of the strongest Crossfire teams in the country by taking it 10-5 on Sub Base and 10-4 on Port.
At the end of the day, Pacific.Macta got the championship as well as a handsome cash prize of P10,000, while Pacific.Wara received P5,000 for getting second place in the tournament.
This is Macta’s second NeXT Crossfire title to boot, after they have beaten Pacific.Wara in the finals of the first edition of this tournament. Macta got their first title after mounting a comeback from a 1-0 deficit and eventually forced Wara to go to a third map, where they clinched it once and for all.
Here are the final results of the tournament:
1st place: Pacific.Macta = P10,000
2nd place: Pacific.Wara = P5,000
3rd/4th place: HL.Decapitatorz= P3,500
