Alliance win ‘El Classico’ charity showmatch against Na’Vi

Alliance triumphed over their ‘El Classico’ rivals Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) 2-1 in a best-of-three charity showmatch, Alliance will donate its €5,000 prize to the Save the Children Charity.

Alliance dominated in game 1 with Gustav “s4”Magnusson on his namesake hero Magnus leading the charge, giving space for Jonathan “Loda” Berg on Sven and the rest of the Swedish squad to force the GG 33 minutes in with a 42-15 kill score.

Na’Vi came back swinging in game 2, with Danil “Dendi” Ishutin on a midlane Phantom Assassin and Dmitry “Ditya Ra” Minenkov on Legion Commander making sure every teamfight went Na’Vi’s way. Despite Alliance’s heavy teamfight lineup with Loda on Gyrocopter and Jerry “EGM” Lundkvist on a support Warlock, Na’Vi proved to be unstoppable, prompting the GG call at 22 minutes with kills at 37-14.

In game 3, Alliance’s star offlaner Henrik “AdmiralBulldog” Ahnberg on Clockwork and Joakim “Akke” Akterhall on a support Silencer repeatedly disrupting Na’Vi during teamfights, giving space for s4 on Timbersaw to shred the opposition. After multiple teamwipes in their base and losing all of their barracks, Na’Vi was forced to call the GG 38 minutes in.

The two teams last faced each other in a best-of-three elimination match in the lower bracket of the Manila Major, where Na’Vi bested Alliance in one of the most hyped and thrilling series of the Major.

Na’Vi and Alliance’s storied rivalry went as far back as The International 2013, where Alliance won the championship in an epic 5-game Grand Finals against Na’Vi. Na’Vi won most of their succeeding encounters after TI3, before both teams slumped leading to The International 2014.
