After a day of grueling matches that pitted teams from all over the country, only eight teams remain as the first ever Razer NeXT Crossfire tournament reached its second phase where the top four teams from each conference will face each other in their respective group stages.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the next round of the tournament will be postponed to next week, April 25. This also means that the rest of the stages will have to be rescheduled to a later date.

To sum up what happened last week, four teams have made it to the next stage of the Northern Conference. Manila’s Pacific.Macta and Pacific.Wara as well as Team Park and Strategic AC Gaming from Batangas were the ones who were able to make it to the group stage.

As for the Southern Conference, the Cebuanos have Spammers and NXA to cheer on, while Bacolod and Iloilo have Team PaF and EnjoyUrself, respectively. However, all is not yet done as players from Davao still have their chance to get into the top four as they faced technical problems during the past weekend and thus were not able to complete their side of the bracket.

The Davao teams will go through a single-elimination stage and the winner of that bracket will face one of the abovementioned teams in order to conclude the final four for the Southern Conference group stage.

All of these eight teams will have a guaranteed P2,000 in cash and the top two from each group stage will have an additional P1,500 in their pockets as well as a slot in their respective Conference Finals, which will be held at a later date.

The winner of each Conference will face each other in the Wave Final to see who will get the lion’s share of the P15,000 prize pool as well as the honor of becoming the first ever winner of the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament!

One of the highlights of last week’s tournament was the “10-0” sweep by two teams from Luzon: Strategic AC Gaming gave the treatment to Highlands 2 from Pampanga, showing dominance on the Black List (BL) side by winning nine rounds and capping it with a single round on the Global Risk (GR) side. Meanwhile, Pacific.Macta did the exact same performance against Maisan from Batangas, making it 9-0 as the BL side and giving the killing blow at the 10th round as the GR side.

In previous years, the two Pacific teams have brought pride and honor to the Philippines by reaching the top four in international tournaments. Most notably, Pacific.Macta was the Philippine representative last year to the CrossFire Stars World Finals, which was held in Seoul. The team took third place against notable opposition from world-class teams such as Germany’s Penta Esports and China’s EP.
