Tekken 7 finally in the Philippines!
I found myself camping Trinoma’s MRT entrance before nine in the morning with two other fellow Tekken players, excited to see what’s in store for us in Timezone.
After a long time of waiting, Tekken 7 is finally out in the Philippines. Timezone Philippines, one of the popular arcade stores in the country, has released the game in several of their branches specifically at Trinoma, SM Mall of Asia, and Glorietta 4. Each arcade has four (4) units of the game each, and more units are to be distributed in several other branches.
UPDATE (10/27/15): Megamall, Gateway, and Alabang Town Center branches have also released Tekken 7 each with 4 units, 2 units, and 2 units respectively.
The machines were assembled only this friday, October 23, 2015, which according to Timezone employees meant that they haven’t been fully calibrated yet. Much to our disappointment, we are not yet allowed to play the game at the moment as they are still making some adjustments to the machine. This also means that online play isn’t active yet, and the staff mentioned that an I.T. person will be arriving within the day to work on it.
UPDATE (10/25/15): Tekken 7 LAN play is available in arcades, and banapassport systems are online.
The game is priced at Php 30.00 per swipe which is much cheaper than the launch price of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which was at Php 40.00. Very good news for avid Tekken players. Tekken 7 is exclusive to Timezone arcades, so do not expect to see the game in other arcades anytime soon.
Stay tuned on the Timezone Philippines Facebook page and on their Instagram for future updates
