BlizzCon 2014 Conquers Anaheim
BlizzCon 2014, a convention held by Blizzard Entertainment to celebrate and promote their games, will take gamers by storm. The event is set to happen on Nov. 7 – 8, 2014 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
The convention features announcements about upcoming games and in-game content, panel discussions, different contests and tournaments of various Blizzard games.
The main highlights of the event will be the StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Finals 2014, Hearthstone World Championship, World of Warcraft Arena World Championships and Heroes of the Storm Exhibition Tournament.
For the Starcraft II Global Finals, the Top 8 Players who will compete from the quarterfinals to the finals are:
Choi “Bomber” Ji Sung – Terran
Mun “MMA” Seong Won – Terran
Kim “herO” Joon Ho – Protoss
Kim “Classic” Doh Woo – Protoss
Kang “San” Cho Won – Protoss
Lee “Life” Seung Hyun – Zerg
Yun “TaeJa” Young Seo – Terran
Lee “INnoVation” Shin Hyung – Terran
The champion will take home $100,000 whereas the 2nd placer will get $50,000. The rest of the placers will not go empty-handed as well, as the 3rd to 4th placer, 5th to 8th placer, and 9th to 16th placer will get $15,000, $7,500, and $5,000, respectively.
For Hearthstone World Championships, the quarterfinals will continue as players from different groups will break the tiebreakers.
Wang “Tiddler Celestial” Xie Yu, Hakjun “Kranich” Baek, Riccardo “Kaor” Giammanco and Cong “StrifCro” Shu already advanced to the quarterfinals, dominating their respective groups.
The champion will take home $100,000 whereas the 2nd placer will get $50,000. The rest of the placers will not go empty-handed as well, as the 3rd to 4th placer and 5th to 8th placer will get $15,000 and $7,500, respectively.
For World of Warcraft, four three-player teams will compete in the race to the Grand Finals.
Teams Skill-Capped EU and Bleached Bones secured their slot in the quarterfinals, while the other teams will compete for the last remaining two slots this Friday.
The champion will take home $200,000 whereas the 2nd placer will get $50,000. The rest of the placers will not go empty-handed as well, as the 3rd and 4th placer will take &20,000 with them.
Lastly, for Heroes of the Storm exhibition match, Blizzard invited four of the top eSports organization to compete for BlizzCon glory and the bragging rights to be the first BlizzCon Heroes of the Storm champion.
