General Santos City Government to host Citywide eSports Youth Summit
As eSports continues its rise into a mainstream industry and with more investments pouring into the sector this year, a local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines organizes an eSports summit for gamers in General Santos City.
Called the “Gensan eSports Summit”, it is an event that aims to gather eSports enthusiasts from all over the city. It is a part of the Gensan Summer Youth Festival, which is done to engage the youth sector with various activities throughout the summer season.

Officially supported by the General Santos City government, the four-day GES LAN party features games such as Dota 2, League of Legends (LoL), Special Force 2 (SF2), PointBlank (PB) and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in its lineup.

In addition to the LAN party, which is slated to be held on May 25-28 at SM Gensan, GES also features a “Values Formation Program” which aims to promote “responsible gaming and sportsmanlike conduct.”
