After one grueling day of play, the Philippine representatives for the CS:GO category of the ASEAN Games for eSports (AGES) 2016 have finally been determined.
Mineski-CS:GO and Expendables have both earned the right to represent the country at AGES 2016, with Mineski winning against Expendables, 2-0, in the grand finals.
Both teams earned their slots to Malaysia after they have beaten their respective opponents in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Going into the finals, Mineski and Expendables went up against each other on Mirage and Dust 2, with Mineski winning 16-6 and 16-13, respectively.
In the first map on Mirage, Mineski went on a roll on the Terrorist side as they dismantled the Counter-Terrorist setups with their precise timings and clean executes, thus allowing them to close out the game comfortably at the start of the second half. Stephen “Getziimov” Doron led the charge as he earned a kill-per-round (KPR) rating of 1.14 on the map.
The second map of the finals on Dust 2 was a closer affair as Expendables fought nail-and-tooth in order to bring the series to a 3rd map, while Mineski wanted to finish it with a clean sweep. Expendables started on the Terrorist side of the map, making it 8-7 in a closely-fought half.
Even as the second half started with Mineski and Expendables swapping sides, both teams were still duking it out on the server in a back-and-forth affair.
In the end, the four rounds that the Terrorists were able to put together starting from the 24th round were enough to earn them the map and the honor of being Philippines’ top CS:GO team for the AGES 2016 CS:GO Philippine Qualifier.
Getziimov got 29 kills in 29 rounds, earning himself a KPR of 1.00, while Kevin “dispenser” Te had a KPR of 0.97.
Rbtx and gii led the way for the Expendables with KPR ratings of 0.79 and 0.83, respectively.
