Turner Studios Will Open a 10,000-Square Foot ESports Studio-Arena

America-based Turner Studios is set to launch its 10,000-square foot studio-arena exclusive for their eSports leagues and coverages this Wednesday (March 25, Philippine time).

The studio-arena is situated in Atlanta and will host Turner’s first eSports tournament, “ELEAGUE”, a Counter-Strike:Global Offensive(CS:GO) 10-week long competition.
“We are all incredibly excited for the launch of ELEAGUE and the opportunity to showcase this live event experience from our new state-of-the-art facility,” said Lenny Daniels, President of Turner Sports, in a press release. “We’re fully committed to providing a best-in-class production experience that will extend across all platforms and we will continue to serve the passionate eSports community with high quality, engaging content that always has the live gaming competition at its core.”

The Atlanta-based studio-arena investment comes a month after Turner, a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc., announced the media conglomerate’s venture into eSports industry. The studio-arena will boast 24-high end cameras including 12 competing team and player perspective focused cameras and camera suspended from the ceiling that will capture a 360-degree view of the venue.

The first season of ELEAGUE will pit the top 24 teams in CS:GO vying for their part in the $1.4 million total prize pot in a 10-week long competition starting tomorrow until the end of July. The champion will take home $390,000.

Turner  will premiere its ELEAGUE coverage tomorrow on Twitch with a weekly online streaming every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The media conglomerate also said in the release that they will air the competition as well on Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) cable every Saturday morning (Philippine time).

ELEAGUE will also be broadcasted on television and streamed online over 80 countries and territories such as Africa, Latin America, Germany and Russia, the media company said.

“ELEAGUE is a global competition showcasing some of the best teams around the world and we’re committed to providing best-in-class coverage across all platforms in all countries,” said Craig Barry, EVP and Chief Content Officer, Turner Sports, in a press release. “This global approach to distributing eSports content is reflective of the worldwide community that so passionately supports it.”
