Filipinos are DOTA 2 champs again as TNC Predator wins P26 million at WESG
Despite numerous setbacks, Filipino eSports team TNC Predator bagged the top prize of $500,000 (₱26,350,000) at the Dota 2 tournament of the World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) 2018 on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Chongqing, China.

China’s Keen Gaming was named 1st runner up after losing to TNC Predator in the grand finals. Keen Gaming will take home $200,000 (₱10,540,000) while Russian esports team White-Off will be sent off with $100,000 (₱5,270,000) the tournament’s as 2nd runner up.
TNC Predator’s winning roster was composed of Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios, Nico “eyyou” Barcelon, Timothy “Tims” Randrup and Lotac’s Marc “Raven” Fausto.

TNC Predator team captain Carlo “Kuku” Palad was unable to participate in the tournament after he was banned from events in Chongqing, China due to alleged racist comments against Chinese players.

On Sept. 5, 2018, Sam Hidalgo “SamH” and Marc “Raven” Fausto both left TNC Predator after participating in The International 2018, the biggest Dota 2 tournament of 2018 in terms of prize pool with $25,532,177 (over P1.3 billion) in winnings at stake.
TNC Predator’s win is its second in WESG history after they won $800,000 as the Dota 2 champions in WESG 2016. JB
