Korean esports organization T1 has announced the formation of their Dota 2 team, starting with the addition of Lee “Forev” Sang-Don as the Offlaner.

The announcement on T1’s official Twitter account was met with much excitement, fans eagerly welcoming T1’s first steps into the Dota 2 scene.

Forev started his career back in 2013 as a player for MVP Phoenix. Since then, he has also played in the rosters of teams such as Digital Chaos, Team Secret, and Immortals. A seasoned player, he is known for his Dark Seer, Nature’s Prophet, and Tidehunter.

The rest of the roster is still unknown.

T1, formerly known as SKT T1, is one of the most well-known esports organizations in the world, with teams in League of Legends, Apex, Hearthstone, PUBG, and previously, Starcraft II. Their League of Legends team in particular has been immensely successful, dominating the scene with a three time victory in the League of Legends World Championship, and with legendary player Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok on their roster.

Many Dota 2 fans are hopeful that this move by T1 will reignite the esport’s popularity and prominence in Korea.
