Ex-Liquid Dota 2 Squad Becomes Nigma Esports
Team Liquid’s previous Dota 2 lineup, headed by Kuro “Kuroky” Takhasomi, is now under the Nigma Esports banner.
This development comes after the European squad opted to not renew their contracts with Liquid following a solid 2nd place finish at The International 2019. Instead, its players decided to take a break from the scene until the MDL Chengdu Major ended and create a new player-owned organization, which we now know as Nigma.
The team’s name was based off the Arabic word for “star” according to the official reveal, which is fitting given the team’s star-studded lineup and legacy. Four of its five players are The International title holders, having lifted the aegis in 2017 while under Team Liquid.
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone ❤ The name's origin comes from the Arabic language and means Star. We hope to deliver you guys enjoyable games and much more. pic.twitter.com/3VOFI0cEf8

Nigma is expected to debut in the qualifiers for the upcoming Dreamleague Season 13 major. Other than name, the team essentially remains the same from what it was during The International 2019.
