In the bid for platform dominance, YouTube announced its exclusive multi-year streaming partnership with Activision Blizzard for its esports leagues and events such as the Overwatch League, Call of Duty League, and Hearthstone Esports.

Following their announcement, all the competitions will be livestreamed on their respective YouTube channels and will include videos-on-demand and special content. The Call of Duty League started streaming on the platform in its inaugural season last January 24, 2020.

In addition, Activision partnered with Google Cloud to serve as their preferred provider for game hosting infrastructure. However, it’s worth noting that Google and Activision Blizzard’s partnership will be excluding China for live broadcasts.
