Pokimane Donates $50k to UCI Esports for Undergraduate Scholarships

Prominent video game personality Imane “Pokimane” Anys has announced that she will be donating $50,000 to be given to deserving students of the University of California, Irvine’s esports program.
The endowment of $2500 per student per year is a first for the UCI’s 4-year-old esports program and is set to begin by 2022. In the announcement, Pokimane stated how she wanted to give back to the gaming community for all the support she’s gotten throughout the years streaming League of Legends and Fortnite.
Pokimane, a 23-year old Moroccan Canadian, has millions of followers on her social media and is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. The University of California, Irvine, the recipient for the Pokimane Scholarship, was the champion for the national League of Legends collegiate league in 2018.
