Evil Geniuses Lock In Second Seed for 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs, Golden Guardians Take Last Playoff Spot
After a day of tiebreakers, Golden Guardians has secured their playoffs spot while Evil Geniuses take down 100 Thieves to finish in second place in 2020 LCS Spring.
Hoping to keep their playoff dreams alive, Dignitas took down Immortals in a back-and-forth 36-minute game with Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham leading the charge on his Pantheon going 7/1/5. However, Dignitas fell short against Golden Guardians in the follow-up game losing their playoffs spot to Greyson Gregory “Goldenglue” Gilmer’s clutch Zoe.
On the other end, 100 Thieves, FlyQuest, and Evil Geniuses settled their three-way tie for second place to hopefully dodge the dominant Cloud9 in the first round of the playoffs. After handily routing FlyQuest with a 14k gold lead under thirty minutes, 100 Thieves fell to the plot of the Evil Geniuses with Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro’s signature Malzahar.
After it all, 100 Thieves will be facing Cloud9 in the winner’s bracket while Evil Geniuses will be looking to take down FlyQuest in the first round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Golden Guardians and Team SoloMid will be hoping to make their championship run through the loser’s bracket.
The 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs starts Monday, April 6 at 4:00 A.M. with 100 Thieves and Cloud9 facing off on watch.lolesports.com.
