Esports—the only sport left standing. As a result, Esports Inquirer will be rebranding as Sports Inquirer.

The onslaught of the Coronavirus pandemic has forced numerous countries to strictly enforce social distancing measures, effectively grounding sporting leagues across the globe. While this also affects LAN  tournaments that pack thousands of spectators in venues, the transition to completely online tournament formats is but a trivial concern in the realm of esports.

Sporting events such as the NBA and the English Premier League received indefinite suspensions in the previous month. In stark contrast, esports events like Dota 2’s Los Angeles Major and the League of Legends Spring Championship series have gone off without a hitch.
