The Global Head of League of Legends Esports John Needham announced the cancellation of the Mid-Season Invitational 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to escalate across the globe.

According to their announcement, Riot’s external risk advisors modeled that the impact of COVID-19 on restrictive travel and public gathering policies will not be going away in time for MSI’s intended dates on July 3-19.
