Sunsparks Becomes Back to Back MLBB Champions in MPL-PH S5
Sunsparks went above and beyond in the playoffs to become the back-to-back Champions of the MPL-PH in its fifth season.
Sunsparks placed 2nd in the regular season of MPL-PH with a 7-2 record, falling behind BREN Esports in the standings. At the start of the playoffs, Sunsparks dominated their way through the upper bracket securing Grand Finals after taking down ONIC PH and BREN Esports.
In the Grand Finals, Sunsparks continued their dominance taking game after game from ONIC PH as they did earlier in the playoffs. Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez stood out throughout the series with his impeccable solo play. In the end, a backdoor play secured their second championship to close out Season 5 of the MPL-PH.
Sunsparks’ victory is their second back-to-back championship in the history of the league.
