Kings of the East: Top Esports Wins Mid-Season Cup 2020
Top Esports redeems themselves in the post-season as they take down FunPlus Phoenix to become the Mid-Season Cup 2020 champions.
In the Group Stage, TES knocked out T1 Esports and Damwon Gaming with finesse then proceeded to sweep Korea’s last hope, Gen.G, in the semifinals 3-0. With their impressive performance in the semis, Top Esports were the favorites coming into the Finals.
Top Esports dominated the reigning World champs throughout the series. MVP jungler Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan’s playmaking on Lee Sin allowed TES to get crucial picks to snowball games in their favor. Meanwhile, Zhuo “knight” Ding and Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo went all-out and showcased their mechanical prowess against the best of the best.
After losing to JD Gaming in the LPL Spring Split 2020, Top Esports composed themselves to take out the best of the East in MSS 2020. TES’ success in MSC 2020 marks Karsa’s return to form and Knight’s rise as a top-tier mid internationally.
