Worlds 2020: Top Esports Reverse Sweep Fnatic to Deny Upset
JackeyLove and Top Esports reverse sweep Fnatic to deny them from advancing further in the Quarterfinals of Worlds 2020.
Since 2018, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has fallen time and again to the storied Yu “JackeyLove” Wen-Bo. In Worlds 2018, Rekkles reached the apex of his career as he qualified for the Finals but fell short to Invictus Gaming. Once again, JackeyLove denies Fnatic from taking a hold of the Summoner’s Cup after reverse sweeping them in the Quarterfinals.
In Games 1 and 2, Fnatic’s bot duo in Rekkles and Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov stepped up as they shut down JackeyLove hard in the bottom lane. Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek’s Kindred played a key role in Games 1 & 2, despite the Fnatic jungler playing the pick for the first time in years.
Leading up to match point, Top Esports struck back as they netted a hefty 7k gold lead in the early game. With Hung “Karsa” Hao-Hsuan’s signature Lee Sin, Top Esports stomped Fnatic to take the series back 2-1. Top Esports were unrelenting with the pressure as Karsa’s Nidalee went on a rampage against Fnatic. With the series tied 2-2, silver scrapes played on as the teams duked it out for who would move on to the Semifinals.
In the deciding game, Top Esports and Fnatic went back-and-forth trying to get the edge in the last game of the series. However, Top Esports prove that they are the better team as they knocked out the European representative.
