Pinoy PUBG Squad DK Esports Bag First at World eSports Challenge 2020
Philippine PUBG amateur squad DK Esports take first place and around ₱200,000 in the World eSports Challenge 2020 held last October 31 to November 1.
DK Esports upset the competition at the international event and stood atop amongst 16 teams from Korea, China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. The team took home ₩5,000,000 which is around ₱210,000.
The Philippine team consists of Fruity, Georgyyy, Limitless, and Mastahden. The World eSports Challenge is an amateur event hosted by the Gyeonggi Content Agency to help promote tourism in the province.
Teams were allowed to join the amateur competition as long as they haven’t participated in the PUBG Continental Series. The World eSports Challenge had amateur players competing in Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG, and KartRider.
DK Esports’ win puts the Philippine PUBG scene at the forefront of the international esports and raises the country’s hope at future international events.
