PSG Talon are back on the throne after an undefeated run in the Spring playoffs of the PCS 2021 season.

PSG Talon take their second-ever trophy after they handily took down Beyond Gaming 3-1 in the Grand Finals. PSG finished 17-1 in the regular season, only dropping a game to Beyond Gaming at the start of the split.

In the playoffs, PSG’s mid laner Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang was on form to help the team finish playoffs undefeated. Maple was formerly a part of the Flash Wolves in 2018 and moved on to the LPL before finding his way to the PCS with PSG Talon.

All throughout the playoffs, PSG got Beyond Gaming’s number after taking them down in back-to-back sweeps. In the semis, PSG favored running Udyr to run their early game. They would keep this strategy of skirmish-heavy comps against BG in the Winners’ Finals.

In the Grand Finals, PSG went left field and kept running the same bruiser comps with Gnar and Leona or Rell leading the frontline. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, as the saying goes.

We’ll see how PSG Talon evolves their draft in the coming MSI 2021 with teams who can adapt better to their tried-and-proven strategies.
