VALORANT Launches New Map Breeze in Episode 2, Act 3
VALORANT is gearing up for the summer with their upcoming map Breeze heading to Episode 2: Act III.
The map is a remote island located somewhere within the southern part of the BERMUDA TRIANGLE. Breeze features a bright, playful and colorful environment with wide open spaces and opportunities for long range encounters.
When asked about their inspirations with Breeze, VALORANT’s Devon Fay said that Breeze was heavily inspired by islands in the Caribbean. He continued saying, “We loved the old forts and tropical beaches. After the cold, angular world of Icebox, we were really excited for the open, bright, colorful world of Breeze.”
The map will be made playable in the upcoming 2021 VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2 – Masters in Reykjavik, Iceland. The tournament, which will take place from May 24-30, is VALORANT’s first-ever international tournament played on LAN.
According to VALORANT’s Senior Game Designer Sal Garozzo, one of their main goals with Breeze was “to build larger and more open spaces with longer sightlines than the other maps in the pool”. In their view, this provides an opportunity for different weapons and Agents to shine.
Alongside Breeze, Riot is releasing the skin line Forsaken which has the remnants of the exiled Sovereign. The skin wilne will have all-new custom models, visual effects, audio, variants, a kill banner, and a finisher. The following weapons will be getting a Forsaken skin: Vandal, Operator, Spectre, Classic, Melee. The bundle will be priced altogether at 7100 VP.
The upcoming patch will also be featuring a BATTLEPASS up for grabs for 1000 VP. The pass will last from April 27, 2021 to June 21, 2021.
