Team Nigma Announce Partnership with Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways announced a long-term partnership with Team Nigma earlier today, making the European powerhouse the first esports team sponsored by a major airline.
“The Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways will make sure the team and its support staff will arrive, relaxed, refreshed, and on time for their packed global schedule,” reads Team Nigma’s latest blog post. “This unique partnership further cements the team’s position as one of the leading esports organizations in the world and provides them the chance to grow within the billion-dollar esports industry.”

“The gaming industry is rapidly gaining prominence, and in line with Abu Dhabi’s investment in the industry, Etihad is proud to lead the way and be the first major global airline to partner with an esports team,” says Etihad’s Brand, Marketing and Sponsorships Vice President Amina Taher. “This is another proof point of our industry-leading approach to sports sponsorships.”
Etihad’s current sporting partnerships include Manchester City Football Club, the HSBC Golf Championship, and Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Nigma is currently tied for 6th place in the DreamLeague Season 15 DPC Western Europe Upper Division.
