Decoded, But Not Unlocked

In a highly anticipated matchup, defending MPL and World Champions BREN Esports were able to snap Blacklist International’s winning streak. After dropping Game 1 and a very close Game 2 comeback, they were able to break Blacklist’s code and close out Game 3, ending the undefeated streak at 7 wins.

Despite this, Blacklist were able to bounce back as they defeated Execration and Laus Playbook Esports to go 9-1 in the standings, and secured themselves an Upper Bracket slot at the Playoffs.

Bringing Back The Magic

Onic had a big 2-1 weekend to put them in 3rd in Group A (tied with BREN in points with 15, but with a better match and game record). Onic had been consistent all season, staying in the middle of the pack, but if they want to make a deep playoffs run they’ll have to bring more than just magic.

Despite Aura PH securing an Upper Bracket Playoffs slot themselves, seeding could still change as the top four teams in Group A (Aura, Work, Onic, Bren) only have a 4-point differential between them. The last few weeks will determine the playoffs picture.

Anyone’s Game

Over at Group B is a similar scenario. With Blacklist steadily ahead with 24 points and a UB slot secured, the trailing teams of Smart Omega, Nexplay, Execration, and Laus Playbook Esports will fight it out for a chance at playoffs. With important games coming up such as the Execration vs Nexplay rematch, Omega vs Blacklist, Execration vs LPE, and Blacklist vs Nexplay, the last two weeks of MPL-PH Season 7 is a definite must-watch.
