Fnatic took down NUTURN Gaming 2-1 to have their fated rematch against Sentinels in the Grand Finals of VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavík.

To start off the day, Fnatic had to knock out their European rivals in Team Liquid who they lost to 3-2 in the EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals. Despite the weight on their shoulders, Fnatic pushed on confidently to take a 2-0 series win against TL.

After a 13-10 showing on Bind, they followed it up with another 13-10 in Ascent to proceed to the Lower Bracket Finals against Korea’s NU. In the finals, the teams went back-and-forth looking evenly matched as they tied the series 13-8 on Bind and Ascent to go for a deciding Game 3.

Despite hopes on high for NUTURN after taking down the highly-praised VISION Strikers in regionals, they ultimately fell down to the hands of James “Mistic” Orfila and Fnatic 13-8 on Haven. Regardless, the performance of NU’s Kim “Lakia” Jong-min gives hope for their comeback on the international stage later on in the year.
