Quezon-city based artist Bricx Martillo “ShrimpPaste” Dumas was tapped to collaborate with VALORANT for the game’s Birthday Rush livestream event celebrating their one-year anniversary.

After being discovered by Riot Games for his fanart of the VALORANT agent Yoru, ShrimpPaste was tasked to create a VALORANT birthday-themed mouse pad for the Southeast Asian community. The custom mouse pad is up for grabs at the VALORANT Birthday Rush livestream on June 2 at 8pm (Philippine Time).

“Through VALORANT, my community expanded,” ShrimpPaste said about playing VALORANT with family and friends during the pandemic. “It bridged the gap. It made us closer… We got to bond even though we were far away from each other.”

The artist also organized an online vegetable shop to help the farmers in North Luzon. Named Vegetarian Empire, ShrimpPaste and his team are raising funds to purchase vegetables from farmers to donate to local community pantries.

“Whenever I sell artworks or I get a good freelance job, I often donate a portion of it through charity because I think it’s a reflection of how I make artworks to spread awareness and of course, to help others.”
