Riot Games announces VALORANT Mobile
VALORANT, Riot Games’ flagship first-person shooter, is officially coming to mobile. The announcement comes as the PC version celebrates its first anniversary boasting over 14 million active players each month. The move to mobile mirrors the company’s release of League of Legends: Wild Rift late last year.
Details about the upcoming release are few and far between. Beyond confirming the new title, the gaming company has yet to reveal the release date, but VALORANT Executive Producer Anna Donlon confirms that the mobile version will not be a spin-off or a different type of game and will not allow cross-play with the PC version.

FEATURED STORIES
“To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we’re trying to do with VALORANT is beyond what we could’ve expected and we’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive VALORANT experience to even more global players.”
Riot has announced that VALORANT Mobile will be tapping into the global mobile audience as their first move in expanding the VALORANT franchise. While details of the expansion are all up for speculation, it is worth noting that the company’s other title, League of Legends, has expanded to multiple games, comics, and an upcoming animated series.
To continue celebrating VALORANT’s successful first year, Riot has announced that players will be able to claim free in-game items throughout June to commemorate the milestone.
