DelubioX Reaches Semifinals At LoR Regionals, Qualifies For Worlds
Legends of Runeterra (LoR) pro player Joel “DelubioX” de Belen reached the semifinals of LoR’s Guardians of the Ancient Seasonal Tournament last June 26, 2021. DelubioX’s top 4 placement qualifies him to participate in the upcoming world championship.
The Blacklist International pro managed to climb through the seasonal tournament with midrange decks that featured dragons, frostbites, and an Ezreal-Draven deck.
DelubioX described his experience as intense. “I was screaming on my every win,” he mentioned in a private post-tournament interview. “My goal is to at least reach the semis for me to be able to qualify in Worlds. I tried to get to the finals but the favor was not on my side.”
He revealed that he got big help from his fellow Blacklist International teammates such as Reinier “ZeroInfinity” Laroya and Adel Thomas “ADELtrocity” Maranan. “We brainstormed kung ano gusto ko maachieve sa lineup ko. We did spicy tweaks para malakas padin yung decks namin against mirror matchups and get the most optimal build that we can.”
Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Ancient seasonal tournament champion was Malaysian player Low “Kienxun” Kienxun who was reportedly a first-timer for the SEA seasonal tournaments.
With the Philippine region considered to be one of the strongest in Southeast Asia, DelubioX and ADELtrocity are two Filipino players who have qualified for the LoR World Championships. DelubioX plans to push for at least a top 32 finish in the next seasonal tournament prior to Worlds.
The LoR World Championships will feature players from the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and SEA regions and will have a $200,000 prize pool.
