Hailing from Agronaut Philippines, Trexler managed to climb to the top of the tournament by beating Malaysian player Jun “JunLoong” Loong in the grand finals 2-0.
Trexler’s fellow Agronauts Eugene A. “maxterGIO” Torino and Miles Zoeh Teodoso “Zowy” Palanog also finished 4th and top 16, respectively. Meanwhile, Home of the Aces’s John Marlo “ZeroAces” Villeza also reached the top 16.
In a private interview with Esports Inquirer, Trexler revealed his preparation was not simple as he had to do a lot of research. “I had to search a lot of decks that are relevant to the current meta,” he stated. Practicing with his teammates also helped him get insights into the decks he used.
In a post-tournament tweet, Trexler revealed that he was also in the middle of getting his braces done with his dentist in the middle of the first round in the playoffs.
Imagine winning a tournament when round 1 of playoffs you are playing while the dentist is putting braces
Damn!
Never thought I would winI think going to the dentist is really the secret! 🤣🤣

“The dentist had an emergency so the clinic had to move the schedule an hour ahead. The experience was like hell since I couldn’t focus clearly and I couldn’t even see the cards cause I was playing on my phone,” Trexler revealed in the interview. “Round 2 was rough as well. [My mom and I] were on our way to Makati so I had to play while the car is moving which makes me feel dizzy always,” he adds. “It’s all in the mind. If you dream it, you win it.”
Trexler was overwhelmed with his victory as not only was he unable to reach any playoffs for a long time but it was his first-ever tournament win as well. “My hands were shaking and the excitement just took over me as if I had a shot of adrenaline,” he stated.
When asked about his message for aspiring LoR players, Trexler advises never giving up and keeping up the grind. A positive mentality also helps as he’s quoted saying “Just like what my girlfriend always says whenever I lose, ‘di mo pa oras pero one day mananalo ka din and you will prove to everyone that you did it.”
“Dream it and do it! Nothing or no one will help you except self-help,” he adds.
