Blacklist International’s ADELtrocity’s Father Might Be A Guinness World Record Holder
The father of Blacklist International’s Adel Thomas “ADELtrocity” Maranan, Randy Maranan, may just be a new Guinness World Record holder after possibly discovering the world’s heaviest jackfruit in their backyard last July 29, 2021.
Maranan’s jackfruit specimen is 24 inches long, 53.5 inches in circumference, and weighs 49.7 kilograms. The current world record for the world’s heaviest jackfruit currently stands at 42.72 kilograms.
Maranan discovered how big the fruit was last month when he opened the sack covering the fruit and believes that it continued to gain weight until it ripened.
“I planted this from seed some 8 or 9 years ago. I cannot remember where I got the original fruit but the lamukot or the fleshy part attached to the seeds were long, thick, and sweet,” Maranan revealed.
“The tree is not very prolific and bore fruit only 3 or 4 times in the last 4 years. This is the first time it has 3 fruits all at the same time,” he adds.
When asked about what the plans were for the fruit, Maranan said that they plan on eating and sharing it with their relatives.
ADELtrocity was shocked when they discovered the fruit from their backyard.
“I was shocked when my dad called me outside to weigh the humungous jackfruit! And even more shocked it weighed almost 50kg.”
On the other hand, ADELtrocity believes that this fruit will bring him good luck as he competes in the Legends of Runeterra (LoR) World Championship.
“Definitely seeing this as a good omen for the upcoming Runeterra World Championships. We might freeze the fruit and I’ll make it as a snack for the tournament.”
He will be competing in worlds with fellow Blacklist International LoR pro Joel “DelubioX” de Belen as they represent the country.
“A lot of world records being broken too in the Tokyo Olympics so I’m hoping to replicate the feat by being the first-ever World Champion for Legends of Runeterra,” ADELtrocity announced.
