Since its founding in 2019, AcadArena has been responsible for hosting esports scholarships, collegiate tournaments, and play to earn opportunities in the Philippine and Southeast Asian collegiate esports scene.

The Esports Awards is dedicated to showcase top class performances and innovation from the people and organizations pushing the gaming scene forward.

On a podcast hosted on the official AcadArena Discord server, Lim said on the nomination, “I hardly have any photos anywhere. I’m a very introverted person… So I really feel grateful. ‘Di ko na tatanggahin. (Translation: I will not refuse it.) I know as the founder, as the CEO, I need to represent it loud and proud, even if it means I have to show my face to the world.”

Lim is one of two Filipino finalists at the 2021 Esports Awards with the other being 16-year old Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno of Bren Esports’ Mobile Legends: Bang Bang roster.
